Grand Opera's Ultimate Spectacle: 'La Juive'

THE INTRO

THE HIT SINGLE:  "Rachel, quand du Seigneur"

As Act Four ends, Eléazar (tenor Nicolai Schukoff) remembers dedicating his life to Rachel's happiness, while now his actions may lead to her execution -- singing, "When the Lord's grace gave you to me ..."

THE B SIDE:  "Il va venir!"

In Act Two, when Rachel (soprano Rachel Harnisch) demands some explanations from Leopold, who is still calling himself Samuel, he promises to return later.  As she waits, Rachel sings "He will be coming," anticipating his arrival, yet afraid of what he might reveal.
