The program travels back to the Queen City for highlights from two Charlotte Concerts presentations recorded November, 2010 and April, 2011. The male vocal ensemble Chanticleer, praised far and wise as a versatile “orchestra of voices,” sings a program ranging from plainchant and Renaissance music to Romantic and contemporary works. Then the show shifts gears for a concert with both Latin and Middle Eastern flavorings. The Assads, featuring Brazilian brothers Sergio and Odair Assad playing guitars and Sergio’s daughter Clarice playing piano and singing, perform a program of South American music that can be traced back to Middle Eastern influences and their own Lebanese roots.
