From the South Carolina Philharmonic’s season-ending concert in April of 2011 at the Koger Center in Columbia, this concert begins with a performance by the South Carolina Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. This concert is followed by one given at Chamber Music Charleston.
From the Greenville Orchestra’s Chamber Series, this program provides a sampling of 20th century and contemporary work ranging from Prokofiev’s well-known student symphony in homage to Haydn to a recent work featuring tambourine soloists from American composer Michael Daugherty.
