This concert program is a showcase, not only of selected soloists from the South Carolina Philharmonic, but also of the versatility of the orchestra itself.
Robert Moody leads the orchestra in a program that combines two 20th century icons and contemporaries with contrasting visions of the “American Century.”
Francesco La Vecchia leads the Greenville Symphony Orchestra in Wagner, and Bruckner. There's also a Piano Trio by Brahms on tap from Charlotte.
This all-French program is performed by the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra with some emerging young classical music talent as soloists.
The program travels back to the Queen City for highlights from two Charlotte Concerts presentations: male a cappella group Chanticleer, and Brazilian family band The Assads.
Two programs from the Greenville Symphony Orchestra's Masterworks and Chamber series make up this edition of the show including Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with Marina Kolomiitseva, William Schuman's Newsreel (In Five Shots), Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 1 ("Spring"), and a suite from Bizet's Carmen.
This American-themed program is a sampling of three concerts from the Carolina Chamber Symphony Players' annual Carolina Summer Music Festival in Winston-Salem, NC.
Inspirational pianist Noboyuki Tsujii performs a moving recital of romantic solo pieces from Germany, France, and Russia. Gary Hoffman and the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra perform Dvořák's Cello Concerto.
The Western Piedmont Symphony and conductor John Gordon Ross offer up Rossini, Elgar, and Brahms; plus two recent works featuring cello and quartet.
